Sinopsis Kursus

International Relations and Security (IRS) is part of the PTD job specialisation fields. This field requires PTD officers with sufficient knowledge to practice the conduct of international relations and security. This module provides students the basis for understanding contemporary developments in international relations and security. The course exposes students to the variety of approaches in understanding international relations and security. Students are also taught the range of present and contemporary issues related to international relations and security, and to understand foreign and defence policy pertaining to national security. The Objectives of the module:

  1. To equip students with an understanding of paradigms and theoretical constructs in the field of international relations and security;
  2. To expose students to Malaysia’s responses to present and contemporary issues pertaining to international relations and security; and
  3. To expose students to foreign and defence policies, and concerns related to national security
Objektif Kursus
  1. Pada akhir modul, peserta akan dapat: 1. Memahami paradigma dan konstruk teoretikal bidang hubungan antarabangsa dan keselamatan; 2. Memahami respon Malaysia kepada isu-isu hubungan antarabangsa dan keselamatan yang semasa dan kontemporari; 3. Memahami dan membuat penilaian kritikal berasaskan maklumat mengenai polisi luar negeri dan pertahanan serta perkara yang melibatkan keselamatan negara.
    By the end of the module, participants would be able to: 1. Understand the paradigms and theoretical constructs in the field of international relations and security; 2. Understand to Malaysia’s responses to present and contemporary issues pertaining to international relations and security; and 3. Understand and make informed, critical assessment on foreign and defence policies as well as concerns related to national security
